So you have that nasty tear in the carpet? Or perhaps one of your pets chewed on it? Whatever the damage, you’re probably thinking that you’ll need a new carpet. However, this is not the case.
If you’d like to look into how to fix your own carpet, you’ve come to the right place. I’ve been doing this for 35 years, and now provide advice on this topic due to popular demand. Take a look at the steps below. You may find you need some tools first!
- Buy a circle cutter, because that’s what you’ll need to get the best looking edges.
- Use this tool to cut a hole from the face or the back of the carpet.
- Make sure you have an extra section of matching carpet handy
- Fit that piece into where you made the hole and seam the carpet together. Be sure to glue the edges. Use seam tape and an iron.
Presto! You (hopefully) now have a brand new looking carpet. This is also how I fix carpets at Carpet Repair Vancouver.
